Beverly Evans

Beverly Bull Evans, 89, of Vance, widow of David Lee Evans, Sr., passed away, Thursday, March 16, 2017 in a St. Stephen nursing home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Johnson and Rev. Dr. David Brien officiaiting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service in the social hall of the church beginning at 2 p.m. A native of Vance, she was a daughter of the late I. Witte Bull and Floride Norris Bull. Mrs. Evans was a graduate of Furman University and was a former teacher and later a librarian for the Holly Hill Public Schools. She was an active member and former Sunday School teacher at Corinth Baptist Church as well as a member of the WMU. Mrs. Evans was a member of the Holly Hill Garden Club, Holly Hill Music Club and the Book Club. She enjoyed wild flowers and all wildlife especially birds. She was preceded in death by a sister, Harriet B. Wilder and Inman Bull. Surviving are a daughter, Paulette S. Evans of Sumter; sons, David Lee (Dee Dee) Evans, Jr. of Pinopolis, and Francis Witte Evans of Vance; and granddaughters, Dr. Haley Joanna Evans and Mary Dare Evans, both of Summerville. The family would like to thank the staff of Lake Moultrie Nursing Facility and Southern Hospice for the care of Mrs. Evans.
