Beatrice S. Avinger

Beatrice S. Avinger, 95 of Saint George, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

Born on December 21, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA Beatrice was one of fourteen children born to the late Alice Oakes Smith and Charles Smith.

Beatrice is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Fred A. Lyons and her second husband Laurie W. Avinger; daughter Estah Ann Davis; sons Arden C. Lyons and Matthew D. Lyons, step-children Frances Ann Hinson, William Avinger, and Gail Kaiser, several grandchildren and her thirteen siblings.

Beatrice is survived by a daughter Susan Keeley (William); son Joseph Lyons (Laura); grandchildren Van (Elidia) Benton, Dan Benton, Randy Davis, Mary (Austin) Heffner, Laura Lyons, and Steven Lyons; step grandchildren Buck (Allen) Kaiser, Sabrina (Bruce) Carroll and Brandy (Travers) Ford; numerous great grandchildren and great - great grandchildren and devoted cousins Sandra Hill and Joanne Fanning

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11am at Avinger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
