Annette Riser West

Annette Riser West, 94 of the Providence Community, widow of John Heyward West passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. 

Born on September 18, 1932, in Fort Motte, Annette was a daughter of the late Martha Jones Riser and William Riser. She was raised by her step mother the late Nina Slawson Riser. 

Annette was long time member of Providence Methodist Church. She was a self-taught pianist/organist for several churches for nearly seventy years. Annette served the church, her community, and all who knew her when she was able. 

Annette is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Margaret Sandel, a brother Caudie Riser, brother in laws O’Bryan West (Marian) Eugene West (Norma), Howard West, Raymond West, Leon West (Gayle) and Francis “Cap” West; and sister in law Helen Fersner (Lamar). Annette is survived by sons William West (Amy) and Woodie West (Jackie); grandson Tyler West; sister-in-laws Francine West and Lois West; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those honored to serve as Pallbearers are her nephews Darrell West, Frank West, Steve West, Robert West, Jackson West, David Earl Fersner, and Ronnie Phillips and Donald Fogle. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Providence Methodist Church. A service will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday. The burial will conclude in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
