Anna Lea Dantzler

ELLOREE - Mrs. Anna Lea Dantzler, 91, of Elloree, widow of Lawrence C. "Plunder" Dantzler, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 Heartland of West Ashley in Charleston. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Rev. Marshall Locke and Rev. Earl Behr officiating. Burial will follow in the Dantzler-Smith Cemetery, Elloree. Mrs. Dantzler was born in Holly Hill, a daughter of the late Stobo R. Lea and Salley Way Lea. She was former long-time supervisor of the Print Shop at the former Charleston Naval Shipyard, and recently retired from the Days Inn in Orangeburg after 37 years. Mrs. Dantzler was a member of the First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, and was preceded in death by a brother, Russell S. Lea. Surviving are a daughter, Terrie Johnson and her husband, Donnie, of Charleston; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Connor Whitworth of Charleston. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. this Tuesday at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 235, Holly Hill, SC 29059.
