Alex C. Locklear

EUTAWVILLE, SC - Alex Chesley Locklear , Jr., 87, of Eutawville, SC, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at his home. A graveside funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bear Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Pembroke, NC. Alex was born in Pembroke, NC, a son of the late Wallie Locklear and Florence Sampson Locklear. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a retired maintenance specialist from Holcim Cement in Holly Hill, SC. Alex enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Vilena Chavis Locklear of Eutawville, SC; daughters, Sonya (Datra) Oxendine of Pembroke, NC, Monica (Tony) Dantzler of Providence, SC, and Vilena (Gerald) Hunt of North Augusta, SC; sons, Alec (Vanessa) Locklear of Winston-Salem, Marvin (LeTecia) Locklear and John (Johnna) Locklear, of Pembroke, NC, Derrick (Rose) Locklear of Spartanburg, and Adrian (Angela) Locklear of Hampton, GA; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
