Tamar Judith Velsor

Mrs. Tamar Velsor SANTEE - Mrs. Tamar "Tee" Velsor, 95, of the Santee Cooper Resort, Santee, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany with Rev. John Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard. There will be a reception following the service at the Velsor home. Mrs. Velsor was a native of Locust Valley, NY, and was the widow of Oliver Velsor. She enjoyed being active by swimming and playing basketball in her younger days. Mrs. Velsor liked to cook, enjoyed gardening, and loved animals. She was preceded in death by a son, Dean Herbert Velsor. Surviving are a brother, Gordon Cooper of New Jersey; a goddaughter, Jennifer Gable (Tom Heinz) of Clifton Park, NY; a godson, Jody Gable of Cobleskill, NY; several nieces and a host of friends. The family thanks her caregivers, Irene Simmons, Delores Riley, and Judy Carson for the attention and loving care that they gave "Tee."
