EUTAWVILLE - Ennis 'Russell' Griffin, 62, went into the arms of Jesus Monday, June 6, 2016 in Eutawville. Russell was born February 13, 1954 in Lumberton, NC,to James Griffin and Bertha Jacobs Griffin.He attended NewLife Community Church in Fountain Inn before moving to Eutawville in 2015. Russell loved his two daughters, Terra Gilreath and April Atkinson. He was very proud and cherished his two grandchildren, Matthew Cole and Madison Atkinson. He was best friends with his son-in-laws, Brandon Gilreath and Shawn Atkinson. Russell was of honorable Cherokee heritage and was a veteran and proud to have served as an MP in the Army during the Vietnam War. Relatives that have passed before him include his beloved mother, Bertha Jacobs, father, James Griffin, sisters, Frances Jacobs, Debbie Haynes, and brothers, JW Griffin and Jimmy Haroldson. Surviving are daughters, Terra (Rev. Brandon) Gilreath of Greenville, and April (Shawn) Atkinson of Eutawville; grandchildren, Matthew Cole and Madison Atkinson, sisters, Eloise Harrelson and Sheryl Powers, both of Yauhannah, SC, Carol Smith of Charleston, Luanne Nobles of Friendship, Pamela Miller of Mt. Pleasant, and Faye Heath of Summerville; and much loved nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Russell's life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6th at NewLife Community Church in Fountain Inn, SC. Rev. Brandon Gilreath, will be officiating the service. All family and friends are welcomed to attend.
