HOLLLY HILL - Randolph Lee "Randy" Garrett, Sr., 80, husband of Betty Sue Brunk Garrett, passed into eternal glory Thursday, October 13, 2011 at his home in Holly Hill after a prolonged illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Pressley Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1689 County Line Rd., Cross with Rev. Ron Causey and Rev. Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Adkins, Ramson Washington, Ted Deedrick, Larry Deedrick, Tommy Deedrick, and Bobby Deedrick. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Bunch. Mr. Garrett was born to Mary Brunson and Ernest E. Garrett in Cross, South Carolina on May 30, 1931. A proud veteran of the Unites States Army, he was a member of American Legion Post #116. Mr. Garrett was businessman in Holly Hill for over 45 years, owning and operating Garrett's Body Shop and Salvage Yard. He was a devout member of Pressley Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, a member of the Masonic Vance Lodge # 230, and a strong supporter of many other need based organizations. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Allen Garrett; step-son Tony Freeman; siblings, Ethel Jackson, Marie Deedrick, Sadie Bilton, James Garrett, Patrick Garrett and David Garrett. Surviving are his wife of the home; sons, Sheriff R.L. "Juney" Garrett Jr., (Barbara) of Manning, and Randy Lee "Punkin" Garrett, III (Melissa) of Holly Hill, a daughter, Jo Ann Buchanan (Charles) of Bakersville, NC; a step-son, Adam Daniel Carroll of Radford, Va.; a daughter-in- law, Teresa Starnes Garrett of Harleyville, SC; a brother, Charlie Garrett of Orangeburg; sisters; Annie Mae Baker, and Eula Mae Brownlee, both of Summerville, Exie Adkins of Eutawville, and Lois Prescott of Holly Hill; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 6pm Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill.
