Nellie A. Garrett, 84, of Cross, South Carolina, widow of John W. Garrett, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 10, 2020 in Summerville, South Carolina. Graveside services to remember and honor Nellie's life will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday August 13, 2020 in the Pressley Memorial Church Cemetery in Cross. Officiating will be Reverend Tommy Cox and Reverend Dale Phillips. Friends will be allowed to pay their respects just prior to the service.
Born on May 18, 1936 in Cross, South Carolina, Nellie was a daughter of the late Stephen Gary Adkins and Jestine Weatherford Adkins.
Nellie was the eldest Member of the Pressley Memorial Church in Cross, where she served as the church secretary for approximately thirty years. Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John; her brothers, James Adkins, John Adkins, Steve Adkins and Harold Adkins and her sister, Elizabeth Syphrett. Nellie is survived by her daughter, Linda F. Garrett of Cross; her two sons, James T. Garrett of Moncks Corner and Timothy W. Garrett and his wife, Marie of St. Stephen; her sister, Justine Johnson of Eutawville; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
