Mary Sweatman Baker

SUMMERVILLE - Mary Sweatman Baker, 63, of Summerville, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Trident Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Avinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Owen Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Target United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Mary was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Clarence A. Sweatman and Velma Young Sweatman. A graduate of Holly Hill High School, she was retired from Wellington Home Products. She was a member of Target United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Sweatman and a brother, C.O. Sweatman. Surviving are a son, Frankie Scott Baker of Summerville; a sister, Ann (Ray) Smith of Eutawville; brothers, Sammy (Aileen) Sweatman of Holly Hill, Jimmy (Kay) Sweatman of Bamberg, and Van (Carol) Sweatman of Summerville; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn G. Sweatman of Cross.
