Isobel C. Lancaster

February 24, 1921 — April 3, 2016

HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Martha Isobel Crosby Lancaster, 95, of the Providence Community, Holly Hill, widow W. Boyd Lancaster, died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at The Magnolias in Santee. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this Monday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill. Pallbearers will be Christopher Mears, Russell Christmas, David Mears, Dale Mears, Chad Rush, Derrick Rush, Greg Austin, Parker Little and Dano Dantzler. "Miss Isobel" was born in Lodge, she was a graduate of Columbia College and was an active member of the Providence United Methodist Church. She was former Vice President of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class, Mother of the Year in 2008, Treasurer of the United Methodist Women for many years and a former President of the Providence PTA. She cared for her father, mother, and sister until their deaths. God shone His light of love through "Miss Isobel." She has met her family and her grandson, Glenn Boyd Lancaster, Jr. on heaven's streets of gold. Surviving are her children, Imogene Lancaster Christmas of Surfside Beach, Glenn Boyd (Kay) Lancaster of Elloree, and Gayle Lancaster (Emory) Rush of Providence; a sister, Eugenia Crosby Hiers of Bamberg; 11 grandchildren; 11great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
