Irene Bacot Flowers

Holly Hill - Mrs. Irene Bacot Flowers, 90, widow of Clyde L. Flowers, died Friday, February 4, 2011 in an Orangeburg Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Brien and Rev. Earl Behr officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Flowers was born in Manning, a daughter of the late Paraneau Austin Bacot and Minnie Bell Bacot. She was a retired lunchroom supervisor from the Holly Hill Public Schools. Mrs. Flowers was an active member of the First Baptist Church and Ivy Garden Club. Surviving are daughters, Sandra (Jim) Jones of Sumter, and Annie Clyde (Reggie) Barnes of Oriental, NC; a brother, Ruffin "Nuggar" Bacot of Summerton; grandchildren, Jimmy (Shannon) Jones, Tim (Becky) Jones, Reggie (Kelly) Barnes, Jr., and Diane (Jimmy) Knowles; nine great-grandchildren; and 2 special friends, Florence and Cleve. Friends may call at Avinger Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. this Sunday.
