Herbert William Jones

ELLOREE - Herbert William Jones, 86, of Elloree, husband of Paris Peagler Jones, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at his home in Elloree. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Jerusalem United Methodist Church with Rev. Barry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the CHURCH this Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m., and other times at home of Thomas Jones, 7238 Old Number Six Hwy, Elloree. A native of Elloree, Herbert was a son of the late Charlie Jones and Carrie Shuler Jones. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was retired from J.F. Cleckley Company. Herbert was a very devoted husband-he spent his final years caring for his wife of 65 plus years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Gloria Hilton and her husband, Donald of St. Matthews, and Jan Jones of Elloree; sons Thomas Jones and Herbert Jones, Jr., both of Elloree; and a special niece, Lynn Canaday of Elloree.
