Harold L. Myers

August 28, 1919 — November 16, 2012

RIDGEVILLE - Harold Lee Myers, 93, of the Wills Bay Community near Ridgeville, husband of Shellie Chubb Myers, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Spring Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Burr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Myers was born in Berkeley County, a son of the late Robert Lee Myers and Alice Sweat Myers. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and retired from Shop 17 at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Mr. Myers was a member of the Camp Hall 1 Hunting Club and a former member of the Mims Lake Fishing Club. He was an active charter member of Spring Hill UMC. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Sandra and her husband, Durwood Collins of Edisto Beach, and Thelma and her husband, Dr. Charles L. Hensley of Ridgeville; a son, Robert Myers and his wife, Alice of Ridgeville; grandchildren, Lori Collins, Durwood Collins, Jr. (Lara), Luell Hensley, David Hensley (Sharon), Jason Hensley, Kelley Jones (Dr. Wes Jones), Dana Myers, and Whitney Myers; great-grandchildren, Blair Kisker, Carolina Kisker, Matthew Collins, Shaylah Collins, Anna Claire Collins, and Abby Jones; and his faithful dachshund, Amos. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. this Sunday at AVINGER FUNERAL HOME, HOLLY HILL, and other times at the home.
