Frank Simons

Frank Kinloch Simons III of Loch Dhu Plantation, Cross, SC died on January 8 after a long illness. He was the oldest son of Francis (Frank) Kinloch Simons, Jr. and Katherine McQueen Martin Simons of Loch Dhu Plantation, Cross, SC. Born on December 15, 1947 in Moncks Corner, Frank was valedictorian of his high school class and earned his degree in business from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. He was a lifelong member of Epiphany Episcopal Church in Eutawville, SC until later in his life when he joined Holly Hill United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir. Frank worked for many years at the First National Bank of SC. He was a member of the St John's Hunting Club. Frank was predeceased in death by his parents. He is survived by two brothers, James McQueen Simons (Connie); Tennant Gaillard Simons (Deanna), a sister, Elizabeth Gaillard Simons; nieces, Katherine Martin Avery Anthony (Ben), Ashley Anne Simons Layton (Eric), Caroline Simons Avery Coy (Steve), Allison Elizabeth Simons McMullan (Conrad), Laura Gaillard Simons Greaver (Brian),and Frances Kinloch Avery Still (Bowman); a nephew,James McQueen Simons, Jr.and 8 great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 3 p.m. on Thursday in the Holly Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Cooper Stonestreet officiating. Burial will follow in the Eutawville Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the Social Hall from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service. Pallbearers will be James Simons, Jr., Harold Padgett, Dr. Simons Hane, John Hane, Floyd Dovell, and Charlie Simons. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Holly Hill United Methodist Church, PO Box 398, Holly Hill, SC 29059 or Eutawville Cemetery, PO Box 5, Eutawville, SC 29048.
