HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Emily Jones Hutto, 87, of Holly Hill, widow of James M. "Gator" Hutto, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 in a Mt. Pleasant nursing facility. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Target United Methodist Church, 705 Target Road, Holly Hill, with the Rev. Ed Stiltz officiating. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 2 p.m. and after the service in the church social hall. Mrs. Hutto was born October 5, 1927 in Lone Star, SC, to the late William Franklin Jones and Mary Francis Bair Jones. She was a graduate of Elloree High School and was the retired Business Manager of the Holly Hill Locker Company where she worked for many years. She was an active member of Target United Methodist, and a loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother. In her extended retirement she enjoyed caring for her yard and was a gardening enthusiast. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. "Gator" Hutto; daughter, Gail Elizabeth Hutto; and brothers, Thomas B., William F., Marion E., Hugh A., Harold L., and Clifton M. Jones, all of Elloree. She is survived by her son, James M. "Jimmy" Hutto, Jr. (Sheila) of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, James M. Hutto, III of Johns Island,, Megan H. Hale of Wichita Falls, TX, Myles A. Hutto of Chicago, Ill, William Connor Hutto of Charleston, and Catherine "Lucy" Hutto of Mt. Pleasant; and a brother, Milton Felder of Elloree. The family would like to the staff Summit Place of Daniel Island and Savannah Grace of Mt. Pleasant for the care given to Mrs. Emily for the past three years.
