ELLOREE - Emily Griffith Denniston, 85, of Elloree, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elloree with Rev. Mitch Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the MaGrill Cemetery. Mrs. Denniston was born in Elloree, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Griffith, Sr. and Lottie Lee Etheredge Griffith. She attended Lander College and worked in Columbia for years before returning to Elloree to care for her parents. She was member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was preceded in death by brothers, Benjamin Franklin Griffin, Jr., Dan Griffith Etheredge, Richard MaGrill Griffith, and Lawrence Felder Griffith. Surviving are her husband, Charles "Chuck" Denniston, Jr. of Elloree; a daughter Celeste Denniston of Elloree; step-daughters, Leslie Moreland of Swansea, Charlotte Denniston of Columbia; a brother, George E. Griffith (Dorothy Ann) of Elloree. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service.
