Doris Blondell Whiten

HOLLY HILL - Doris Blondell Boykin Rogers Whiten, 85, wife of John L. "Johnny" Whiten, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at her home following an extended illness. A graveside service will be 2 PM Tuesday at Bethany-Breland Cemetery. Officiated by the Rev. Dr. David Brien. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Mrs. Whiten was born November 22, 1928 in the New Hope Community of Berkeley County, a daughter of the late Trenholm Boykin and Minnie Lee Way Boykin. She was predeceased by a son, Edwin Merle Rogers, six brothers and a sister. In addition to her husband Johnny of 33 years she is survived by a daughter, Judy (Larry) Griffith and a son, Barry (Linda) Rogers both of Holly Hill; a granddaughter, Sarah (Kaleb) Steffenhagen of Clarksville, TN and a grandson, Justin Rogers of Holly Hill.
