Dan Bilton

NEESES - William Daniel "Dan" Bilton, Sr., 78, of Neeses, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 in an Orangeburg hospital. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2610 Ninety Six Rd., Neeses, with Rev. Legrand Taylor officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in the Eutawville Cemetery, Eutawville. The family will receive friends at the church before the service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dan was born in Eutawville, a son of the late Thomas Jessie Bilton and Emily Infinger Bilton. He was the owner of Bilton Insurance Agency in Denmark. Dan was a member of the Summerville Masonic Lodge #234, and was a member of Mt. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by sons, Thomas Jeffrey Bilton, and William Daniel "Danny" Bilton, Jr.; 7 brothers; and 2 sisters. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Betty Ruth Smith Bilton of Neeses; a daughter, Shari B. Smith (Terrell) of Beaufort; a sister, Catherine Bilton Oliver of Columbia; grandchildren, William Daniel Bilton, III (Mandy) of Summerville, Andrew Jacob Bilton of Varnville, Bryce Terrell Smith, and Brooke Madelyn Smith, both of Beaufort; and great-grandchildren, Jaiyden and Grayson Bilton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
