Archie Lee Lewis Glasser

HOLLY HILL - Archie Lee Lewis Glasser, 81, of Holly Hill, wife of Charles Robert Glasser, Sr., died Saturday at MUSC hospital in Charleston. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holly Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cooper Stonestreet officiating. Burial will follow in the Grahamville Cemetery near Ridgeland, SC. Mrs. Glasser was born in Abbeville, SC, a daughter of the late Archie Pendleton Lewis and Inez Grace Buckner Lewis Sanders. A graduate of Ridgeland High School, she was a clerk for Supreme Court Judge W.L Rhodes of Varnville, and Office Manager at Farmers Chevrolet for over twenty years. Mrs. Glasser was a Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics, and was active in Holly Hill Little Theater, acting and directing in a number of plays. She was an active member of Holly Hill United Methodist church, and the adult choir. Mrs. Glasser was a member of the Holly Hill Music Club, and the "Birthday Group" of close knit friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Lewis Mills (Percy) of Georgetown; and an infant son. In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by children, Charles Robert Glasser, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Mt. Pleasant, William Allen Glasser, and his wife, Lisa, of Wagner, Sarah Lee Glasser Burch and her husband, Lou, of Holly Hill, and Cecilia Glasser Close and her husband, Gary, of Sumter; grandchildren Mary Ashton Glasser, Christina Marie Glasser, Louis H. "Hays" Burch, IV, Pierce Allen Burch, and Austin Wade Barnes; step-grandson, Russ Rickborn, step-brother, Fred Sanders of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. this Monday at Avinger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Holly Hill United Methodist Church Chancel Choir, PO Box 398, Holly Hill, SC 29059
